A BWM Alpina B6 comes with 600 horses at your disposal, it goes from a standstill to sixty miles per hour in about 3.6 seconds, and it features details like a hand stitched cover around the steering wheel, 20-inch, 20-spoke wheels, and nearly a dozen different exterior colors from which you can choose. But almost no other car on the road looks quite like the 2016 BMW Alpina B6 driven by Mr. Michael Knight himself, AKA actor David Hasselhoff.

The Hoff’s Alpina B6 Grand Coupe is finished with a metallic brown-gold paint exterior and has a stunning two-toned interior. Because of the relatively low number of these vehicles produced and the many color combinations possible you’re probably not going to see another one quite like his. (Especially because Hasselhoff spends a lot of time in Europe.)

But what makes a brand new BWM Alpina B6 special is not the rarity of this paint color or the raw power of that engine configuration, but the fact that this semi-supercar starts with a base MSRP of only $122,000. I’m not going to pretend that’s a steal, but it’s hardly a staggering price for a car with a top speed of 199 miles per hour and with performance that even David Hasselhoff calls a 10 out of 10. (Most major car review outlets like Car and Driver and Motor Trend also give it high marks, though not quite a perfect 10. Apparently these cars drink gas with abandon.)

The Alpina B6 manages to preserve most of the lines and design elements you expect from a BMW (familiar grate, familiar curves, etc.) while incorporating plenty of new elements as well. Its front apron allows for plenty of downforce while its twin turbo chargers suck in plenty of air for the potent V8 engine. The Alpina B6 has an eight speed automatic transmission, and while many purists will miss the stick shift option they know with most Bimmers, this car’s smooth and responsive transmission will probably have you moving faster than you could if you were shifting gears by hand.

And if you’re anything like David Hasselhoff, you’ll also appreciate the active roll stabilization suspension, which keeps your car down on the road where it belongs and helps prevent spinouts even as you take turns and corners at high speed. So whether you just enjoy driving, you see yourself likely getting into lots of future car chases, or both, the BMW Alpina B6 is well worth your consideration.
