For this Volkswagen Passat we recommended and then installed the LLumar Ceramic window tint film, at a 5-percent shading for the rear window, and 15-percent shade for the side front windows. The lower the shade-percent number, the darker and more protective the film. Hence, the 5-percent shade is known as the “limo tint,” because it allows only 5 percent of light to pass through and limousines are often adorned with this shade for maximum privacy.
So this Passat owner now has a lot more privacy. But is that all? No way!
The owner and passengers from now on will enjoy a much cooler interior, even without the air conditioning on (which is another benefit of the dark window tint shade: using the A/C less and saving in energy there). There also is the considerable protection from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, known to cause skin cancer and hurt the eyes, as well as from infrared rays. The Ceramic product provides 99.9 percent protection from UV rays, and exceptional heat-rejection qualities furthering the cooling of the car.
Lastly, the dark film just makes the Passat look cooler. From the outside, that is. Check out this video, especially at the very end.

Before
You can see right through the windows, and even see some details like the backsides of the front seats.

After
This Passat now has a lot more style, and a significant amount of added privacy with the limo-tint back window especially.

Below, a final look at the Passat before our experienced technicians finished their magic. Give it a broad look in terms of its overall exterior appearance … and then scroll back up to the “After” photos to compare. It now has much more style, a touch of sporty, and even some mystery as the darkened windows provide quite a bit of privacy inside.
